Who is eligible to apply?

This plan is available for all Malaysians, permanent residents of Malaysia, and Malaysia employment pass/work permit holders.

What is the age limit?

The eligibility age for adults is 18 years to 79 years next birthday. Whereas children must be aged between 30 days and 18 years old or up to 23 years old if he/she is studying full time in a recognised institution of higher learning.

Who can be covered under the ‘Family’ plan?

The ‘Family’ plan covers you, your spouse and eligible children (maximum 5 children) who are travelling together.

Can I apply for my child under 18 years old without traveling with him/her?

No, at least one adult is needed to travel together with the child.

Does this plan cover single trip and annual cover?

Yes, this plan covers both single trip and annual cover. For single trip, you can choose either the ‘Individual’ plan or the ‘Family’ plan. For annual cover, only ‘Individual’ plan is available.

Can I enrol in this plan together with my travel companions other than my spouse and children?

Yes, you can apply for this plan for yourself and your travel companions up to 10 persons. Each of you shall be entitled to the individual limit as stated in the schedule of benefits.

I’m a frequent traveller, which travel plan is suitable for me?

If you travel more than 3-4 times a year, an annual cover plan could work better value than single trip cover for each holiday/business trip. It saves you from the trouble of having to apply for a new cover every time you travel.

I’m a non-Malaysian (foreigner), can I apply this plan?

Yes, as long as you are a permanent resident of Malaysia or holding a Malaysia employment pass/work permit, you can apply for this plan with the condition that all departures are from Malaysia and you are returning to Malaysia after your trip.

Does this plan cover domestic flight within Malaysia?

No, this plan does not cover domestic travel.

My flight is departing from a neighbouring country (i.e. Singapore), will I be covered?

No, your departure has to be from Malaysia.

Please note that the dates of your travel plan have to be from the date you depart from Malaysia until the date you return to Malaysia.

My flight back to Malaysia is at night and I will only land on the following day, which date should I select while applying this plan?

You should select the date you arrive back in Malaysia which is the following day.

I am travelling to multiple countries in a year, do I need to apply for a separate plan for each country? Which region should I select?

If you are travelling to multiple countries in a year, you can be covered under one certificate. Please select the furthest region by distance from Malaysia.

For example, if you are going to Singapore (Region 1), Hong Kong (Region 1), and US (Region 3), you can select US as your destination.

If I transit in the Middle East (Region 3) during my trip to Europe (Region 2) but I am not stopping over in the Middle East, which region should I select for the Annual Cover plan?

If you transit in the Middle East with no stop over, you may select the Annual Cover plan with Region 2.

If you transit in the Middle East with stop over, we advised you to select the Annual Cover plan with Region 3.

Can I apply this plan for Hajj or Umrah travel?

Yes, you can apply this plan for business and/or leisure purposes including Hajj or Umrah.

Can I apply this plan after I depart and still be covered?

No, you will not be covered if you apply this plan after you have departed.

In order to enjoy the coverage, especially the trip cancellation benefit, you must apply this plan prior to your scheduled departure.

Can I apply more than one Takaful myClick Travel PA plan for the same trip?

No, one person can only be covered under one active Takaful myClick Travel PA certificate for the same trip.

When will I receive my certificate?

Upon your successful application with contribution payment, you will receive your e-certificate immediately.

If I apply for Family plan, will my family be receiving the certificate too?

No, your family will not receive the certificate but they will be covered under the same certificate as you. We will only send the e-certificate to you as the main applicant.

If I apply for this plan together with my travel companions, will they receive the certificate too?

No, your travel companions will not receive the certificate but they will be covered under the same certificate as you. We will only send the e-certificate to you as the main applicant.

What is covered under this plan?

This plan provides coverage for personal accident, medical, hospital allowances, emergency medical evacuation and repatriation, travel and many more. Click here for the full coverage.

What is the maximum period of coverage?

A ‘Single Trip’ plan covers 1 return trip up to 190 consecutive days from the departure date. While an ‘Annual Cover’ plan covers multiple trips throughout a year as long as each trip lasts no more than 95 consecutive days.

How does the ‘Family’ limit apply?

Let’s say you travel with your family (spouse and 2 children) and all of your baggage are lost.

Under the ‘Bronze’ plan, we will pay you a maximum of RM7,500 for your family of 4 persons. If only 2 of them lost the baggage, we will pay a maximum of RM5,000 (i.e. each RM2,500 maximum).

For ‘Annual Cover’ plan, is the benefit payable per incident or per trip?

For ‘Annual Cover’ plan, the sum covered listed in the schedule of benefit is payable per each trip.

What can I claim under the travel cancellation benefit?

Travel cancellation benefit is applicable only if you apply your travel plan at least 7 days before your trip. We will reimburse your pre-paid irrecoverable travel and accommodation expenses if you have to cancel your trip due to incidents such as:

  • Your death, Serious Injury or Serious Illness or the death, Serious Injury or Serious Illness of your immediate family member
  • Unexpected outbreak of strike, riot or civil commotion
  • Witness summons
  • Serious damage to your residence.
Do note that you have to first get a refund from the relevant parties before claiming from us and we will pay for the outstanding amount.

Can I cancel my trip to the scheduled destination due to COVID-19 outbreak and request for a refund of the trip?

Our travel cancellation benefit is provided for specific covered events which do not include the pandemic outbreak such as COVID-19.

I need to cut-short my trip because my father is hospitalized in Malaysia. What am I covered for?

We will reimburse your pre-paid unused and irrecoverable travel and accommodation expenses.

Do note that you have to first get a refund from the relevant parties before claiming from us and we will pay for the outstanding amount.

If I have departed for my trip overseas but have decided to return to Malaysia due to the travel warning on the COVID-19 outbreak occurring at my intended destination, can I make a claim under Travel Curtailment benefit?

Our travel curtailment benefit is provided for specific covered events which do not include the pandemic outbreak such as COVID-19.

What is payable if my luggage is delayed by the transport provider?

We will pay up to a maximum limit of your selected plan if your checked-in baggage is delayed for each full 6 consecutive hours (RM200 for every 6 hours) upon arrival at your destination abroad.

Does this plan cover for rental car excess?

Yes, we do cover for rental car excess under Silver and Gold plans in which we will reimburse for any excess/deductible that you are legally liable in respect of loss or damage to the rental car.

When does home protection cover starts?

The coverage starts as soon as you depart from Malaysia and terminates upon your return to Malaysia.

Is there a Cash Back benefit for this plan?

No, this plan does not provide a Cash Back benefit.

How much contribution do I have to pay?

The contribution varies depending on your choice of plan, destination and duration of cover.

You may refer to the table of contributions in the Product Disclosure Sheet.

I am travelling to multiple countries within the same trip, do I need to apply for a separate plan for each country and how will the contribution be charged?

If you are travelling to multiple countries within the same trip, you can be covered under one certificate. Please enter all the destinations.

In terms of the contribution, we will charge based on the furthest region by distance from Malaysia. For example, you have selected Singapore (Region 1) and US (Region 3), your contribution will be charged based on Region 3 only.

What are the payment methods allowed for this plan?

You can make the contribution payment via the following options:

  1. Credit / debit card
  2. Current / savings account via FPX
  3. e-Wallet*
    • Boost
    • GrabPay
    • Maybank QRPay
    • TouchNGo
*Subject to the minimum and maximum spending limit as imposed by the respective e-Wallet providers.

Do I need to pay for other fees/charges other than the contribution?

Yes, you will need to pay RM10 stamp duty* per certificate in addition to the contribution payment.

*Stamp duty is exempted for certificates with an annual contribution amount not exceeding RM150 until 31/12/2025. Thereafter, RM10 stamp duty shall be payable starting from 1/1/2026 regardless of the annual contribution amount.

Can I upgrade my plan from Bronze to Silver or change the area of coverage from Region 1 to Region 3?

No, change of plan or coverage is not allowed after the e-certificate is issued. Therefore, we suggest you to select the wider coverage plan to enjoy a comprehensive cover.

Can I change my coverage effective date due to the change of my travel date?

We do not allow change of the coverage effective date. You can cancel the certificate before the departure date and apply a new plan with the correct travel date. We will refund the contribution for your cancelled certificate provided that no claims have been made.

How do I renew my annual travel cover?

You can visit our website here and apply a new annual plan.

Can I cancel my certificate and get a refund?

Yes, you can cancel the certificate before the departure date and get a refund of the contribution. However, there will be no refund of the contribution once the certificate has been incepted.

How do I submit the cancellation request?

Please download the Endorsement Form here and complete the form then submit it at any of our branches.

How do I make a nomination for this plan?

You can make a nomination via our myTakaful Customer portal. We will send you an acknowledgement email once the information is updated.

How do my travel companions make the nomination?

Your travel companions covered under this plan are required to download the Nomination Form here and complete the form then submit it at any of our branches.

How do I claim for my medical bills when I get sick during my travel?

You can first pay for your medical bills when you are overseas and make your claims when you return to Malaysia.

Do note that you will need the official doctor letter and original receipts to make your claims.

Can I continue my medical treatment in Malaysia for injuries sustained overseas?

Yes. If you suffer from a disability while travelling on an overseas trip and initial treatment was sought overseas, we will reimburse the medically necessary expenses incurred for the follow-up treatment in Malaysia up to a maximum of 90 days upon arrival in Malaysia, subject to the medical expenses limit specified in the schedule of benefit.

Where initial treatment was not sought overseas, the reimbursement is limited to outpatient treatment up to a maximum of RM500 incurred within 24 hours upon arrival in Malaysia.

Will I be covered for an illness that I am already suffering from or have suffered in the past?

No, we do not cover any pre-existing condition prior to the coverage effective date.

What should I do if my luggage is delayed by the transport provider?

You should lodge a report and seek compensation from the transport provider. You may file in your claim with us for the loss not compensated by the transport provider.

What should I do if I lose money whilst abroad?

You must make a report to the local police within 24 hours after the incident. You can then make your claims when you return to Malaysia.

Who should I or my travel companions contact for an emergency assistance while overseas?

Please call our 24-hour hotline at +603 -7628 3905. Our service provider will make the necessary arrangement for you / your travel companions.

Can I make own arrangement for medical evacuation or repatriation while overseas?

No, you should contact our service provider at +603 -7628 3905 who will make the necessary arrangement for you.

What are the exclusions for this plan?

Some of the exclusions are:

  • Pre-existing condition;
  • Trip undertaken against medical advice or when the purpose of travel was to obtain any form of medical treatment, consultation or advice;
  • Professional or hazardous sports or racing of any kind other than on foot;
  • Emergency medical evacuation and repatriation due to any form of Mountain Sickness.

How do I or my travel companions submit a claim and how long does it take to process a claim?

You / your travel companions need to download the claim form here and complete the form by providing all the supporting documents as listed in the Certificate Wording. We will process within 14 working days upon receiving complete documentation and provided that there is no further information required.

How do I receive my claims payout?

All benefit payouts, including claims and surrender will be made payable to you/the claimant via e-payment.

As a participant, you can update your bank account details via our myTakaful Customer portal.
