Does Takaful myClick Motor cover private cars only?

Yes, this plan only covers private cars aged less than 21 years with comprehensive cover.

Can I participate in Third Party cover under Takaful myClick Motor?

No, only Comprehensive Cover is available under Takaful myClick Motor.

Are there any vehicles that require special consideration for acceptance?

Yes, there are different terms that may apply to some vehicles such as certain models of Four-Wheel Drive (4WD), luxury vehicles and sports/coupe models. Hence, you will not be able to enrol online. Please visit any of our Takaful myCare Centres to submit such request, subject to approval by Takaful Malaysia.

Does Takaful myClick Motor provide motor coverage outside Malaysia?

No, this plan does not provide motor coverage outside Malaysia except for The Republic of Singapore and Negara Brunei Darussalam. The extension of coverage for The Republic of Singapore and Negara Brunei Darussalam is automatic under Takaful myClick Motor.

What is the coverage period for Takaful myClick Motor?

Takaful myClick Motor provides one year coverage for your vehicle. You need to renew your motor certificate annually.

How do I download the mobile app?

You can download our Click for Cover mobile app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

Can I extend Takaful myClick Motor to cover windscreen, strike/riot and others?

Yes, you can include the following additional cover under Takaful myClick Motor:

  1. Cover for Windscreens, Windows & Sunroof
  2. Motor PA Plus
  3. Inclusion of Special Perils
  4. Towing and Cleaning due to Water Damage
  5. Compensation for Assessed Repair Time (CART)
  6. Key Replacement
  7. Legal Liability to Passengers
  8. Legal Liability of Passengers
  9. Strike, Riot & Civil Commotion

What is the difference between Agreed Value and Market Value?

Agreed Value is the amount of sum covered that we will reimburse you in the event of total loss or theft. Whereas if you have selected Market Value under sum covered, we will reimburse you with the market value of your car at the time of total loss or theft but subject to the sum covered as selected by you.

What is the difference between Minimum Sum Covered and Recommended Sum Covered for windscreen?

The Recommended Sum Covered for windscreen is the windscreen value based on the estimated replacement cost of windscreen from your car manufacturer whereas the Minimum Sum Covered for windscreen is based on the estimated replacement cost of windscreen by any windscreen suppliers other than your car manufacturer.

Please be advised that your vehicle’s warranty may be affected if you replace your windscreen from any windscreen suppliers other than your car manufacturer.

Can I include additional drivers under my certificate? Is there an extra charge?

Yes, all your authorised drivers are automatically covered at no extra costs and you do not need to provide their details too.

Is there any Roadside Assistance Program offered by Takaful Malaysia?

Yes, we offer the Tele Bantuan roadside assistance program for Takaful myClick Motor. For details, please refer to the section below on Tele Bantuan services.

What is payable under the complimentary personal accident coverage?

Each eligible driver and passenger will be entitled to a sum covered of RM15,000 per life in the event of accidental death or permanent disablement within 12 months from the date of accident while he/she is travelling in or alighting from the covered vehicle.

Will my passengers and I be covered for a complimentary personal accident (PA) coverage if my car met with an accident when it is used for rendering Grab service?

No, the complimentary PA cover will not be provided when you use your car as a private taxi by charging fares to carry passengers or as a hire car by charging rental to use your car.

How do I increase my personal accident coverage?

You can include Motor PA Plus which provides an additional cover for the driver and passengers travelling in your vehicle against death or permanent disablement due to a road accident. It also comes with breakdown towing up to a maximum limit as selected by you. These benefits are payable on top of the complimentary personal accident of RM15,000 for each person and 50km breakdown towing.

How do I qualify for the cash back?

It’s simple; you will be entitled for the cash back so long as your certificate remains claims-free during the coverage period and you have provided your bank account details for us to make the payment via the e-Payment facility.

Is the cash back guaranteed?

No, it is not guaranteed. The historical cash back amount paid over the years is not an indication of future payouts and it may vary in the future depending on the future claims and investment performance of our takaful risk fund.

When can I receive my cash back payment?

Your cash back payment will be processed 60 days after the expiry of your certificate. Your cash back payment will be credited to your bank account via the e-Payment facility.

Is Service Tax applicable for this plan?

Yes, this plan is subject to a 8% Service Tax.

What are the payment methods allowed for this motor takaful cover?

You can make the contribution payment via the following options:

  1. Credit / debit card (including instalment plan options)
  2. Current / savings account via FPX
  3. e-Wallet*
    • Boost
    • GrabPay
    • Maybank QRPay
    • TouchNGo
*Subject to the minimum and maximum spending limit as imposed by the respective e-Wallet providers.

What are the instalment plan options offered?

We offer 2 types of instalment plan options:

  1. Maybank EzyPay Instalment Plan (EPP) to Maybank individual Visa/MasterCard cardholders; and
  2. CIMB Instalment Payment Plan (IPP) to CIMB individual Visa/MasterCard cardholders.

What is the available instalment payment period?

At the moment, we only offer instalment payment period of 6 months at zero (0%) interest for both Maybank and CIMB individual cardholders.

How do I qualify for the instalment plan offered?

You can choose to pay your motor contribution with the 0% instalment plan if your total amount payable is above RM500 for Maybank instalment plan or RM600 for CIMB instalment plan. The amount shall include the stamp duty and service tax.

Is there any additional fee for the instalment plan options?

There is no additional fee charged by Takaful Malaysia for the zero (0%) interest instalment plan offered. However, we suggest you to check with the respective issuing bank for the full terms and conditions of the instalment plan.

What is Tele Bantuan?

Tele Bantuan is our 24/7 emergency car assistance program provided to all our eligible participants with a Comprehensive Private Motor Takaful coverage.

What is covered under the Tele Bantuan?

Under the Tele Bantuan program, we provide free labour costs for minor roadside repair up to 2 hours if your vehicle experiences a breakdown. If your vehicle cannot be repaired on the spot, we will provide free towing service up to 50km per event from the breakdown scene to our nearest panel workshop. For any additional distance exceeding 50km, there is an additional cost at of RM2.00 per km which you are required to pay.

If your vehicle meets with an accident, we will provide free towing service up to a maximum of RM200 to our nearest panel workshop.

If I need a minor roadside repair such as minor wiring work, how much do I need to pay?

We will cover the labour costs up to a maximum 2 hours for minor roadside assistance. It will cost you nothing if the repair takes less than 2 hours. However, any spare parts cost other than the labour cost will be borne by you.

Can I increase my towing limit?

Yes, you can include Motor PA Plus coverage which provides an additional breakdown towing up to a maximum limit as selected by you. This is on top of the complimentary 50km breakdown towing.

My car breakdowns 60km from the nearest panel workshop, can I still request for the towing service?

Yes you can, and we will cover your towing fee up to 50km.

If you have the Motor PA Plus coverage, you will be covered automatically for the additional distance up to the maximum limit as selected by you.

If you do not have the Motor PA Plus coverage, you will need to pay for the additional distance at the rate of RM2.00 per km. In this case, you will need to bear the cost for 10km, which is RM20.00 (10km x RM2.00).

If I am involved in an accident, can I request for a towing service?

Yes, of course. We provide free towing service to our nearest panel workshop up to RM200.

Who should I contact for the Tele Bantuan assistance services?

You can submit your assistance request via our mobile app under the Tele Bantuan for an immediate response. Otherwise, you may contact our 24 hours Tele Bantuan helpline at 1800-888-788.

What is not covered under the Tele Bantuan?

We do not cover the following events under the Tele Bantuan:

  1. Services which are not organized or pre-approved directly by our Tele Bantuan service provider;
  2. Any costs or expenses not expressly covered under the program;
  3. Cost of services which are claimable under the Comprehensive Private Motor Takaful certificate;
  4. If the covered vehicle is or has been modified for participation in rally and racing or modified against government regulations;
  5. Any private vehicle used for commercial or business purposes or registered other than private motor vehicle (excluding motorcycle);
  6. When the car keys are not available, damaged or locked inside the covered vehicle;
  7. Towing of a covered vehicle for the purpose of disposing the vehicle;
  8. Towing of a covered vehicle for the purpose of transferring the vehicle from one workshop to another;
  9. No valid road tax displayed on the covered vehicle; or
  10. If the covered vehicle suffers a breakdown and is immobilized on an unpaved road surface or on a non-gazetted road in Malaysia.

How do I renew my motor takaful cover?

You can renew your motor takaful cover online via this website. If you have applied for this plan before, we will send the Notice of Expiry (NOE) to you 30 days before your coverage expires and you can renew by clicking on the link provided in the NOE.

Can I increase/decrease the sum covered for my vehicle anytime during the cover period? If yes, what is the procedure?

The adequacy of sum covered is based on the ISM ABI market value at the time of renewal of your motor takaful cover.

For any request of a revision in sum covered, you are required to submit the endorsement form to any of our Takaful myCare Centres, subject to approval by Takaful Malaysia.

Can I include any additional coverage after the commencement of the certificate? If yes, what is the procedure?

Inclusion of any additional coverage after the commencement of the certificate is allowed except for:

  1. Motor PA Plus
  2. Inclusion of Special Perils
  3. Towing and Cleaning due to Water Damage
  4. Compensation for Assessed Repair Time (CART)
  5. Key Replacement
For request to include any additional coverage other than those listed above, you are required to submit the endorsement form to any of our Takaful myCare Centres, subject to approval by Takaful Malaysia.

Can I change my plan from Plan 1 to Plan 2 for Motor PA Plus cover or other add-on cover?

Change of plan for Motor PA Plus cover or other add-on cover is only allowed upon renewal. Cancellation of such add-on cover within the period of coverage is not allowed.

I have sold my car to another person. Can I transfer the motor takaful cover to the new owner?

No, you are not allowed to transfer the motor takaful coverage to another person. You are advised to cancel your motor takaful coverage and the new owner must apply for a new motor coverage.

I would like to transfer the NCD from Takaful myClick Motor to another motor policy/certificate, what is the procedure for the NCD withdrawal?

For such request, you are required to submit the endorsement form to any of our Takaful myCare Centres, subject to approval by Takaful Malaysia.

Will I get a refund if I surrender my certificate?

Yes, you are entitled to a prorate refund provided there is no claim has been made under your certificate, including no claims made on additional coverage.

How do I submit my request for a cancellation or termination?

For any cancellation or termination request, you are required to submit the endorsement form to any of our Takaful myCare Centres, subject to approval by Takaful Malaysia.

What do I need to do if there are changes to my contact details?

You can update your contact details via myTakaful Customer portal.

In the event of a breakdown, how much do I need to pay for the towing fee?

We will cover the towing fee up to the maximum distance of 50km from the breakdown scene and our nearest panel workshop.

If you have the Motor PA Plus coverage, you will be covered automatically for the additional distance up to the maximum limit as selected by you. If you do not have the Motor PA Plus coverage, you will need to pay for the additional distance at the rate of RM2.00 per km.

In the case of a total loss or theft, what is the total value of the compensation that I am eligible for if I selected the sum covered based on a market value during renewal?

The total compensation value depends on either the market value or sum covered (whichever is the lower) at the time of the loss. For example: If the market value of your car is RM80,000, and the sum covered you have selected is RM70,000, then the total compensation value is RM70,000.

What should I do If I’m involved in an accident?

You can request accident towing via our mobile app under the Tele Bantuan and our service provider will assist you to lodge the police report accordingly. You can also call our 24 hours Tele Bantuan helpline at 1800-888-788. Alternatively, please call 24/7 Accident Assist hotline at 15-500 for assistance. What are the claim options available in case of an accident?

There are three (3) options for you to claim:

  • Option 1 (Own Damage): You claim against your own certificate. Impact: You will lose your NCD.
  • Option 2 (Third Party Claim): You make a claim against a third party insurance company/takaful operator. Impact: Your NCD will not be affected. Eligibility: When it can be proven that the third party is at fault.
  • Option 3 (Own Damage - Knock for Knock): You make a claim against your own insurer; we will communicate with the third party insurance company/takaful operator to notify them on the claim. Impact: Your NCD will not be affected.

How do I get the list of panel workshops in my area?

You can locate the nearest panel workshops at your convenience via our mobile app under the Tele Bantuan. Alternatively, please click here for the list of panel workshops.

Can I choose my own repairer when I make a claim?

You should choose any one of the panel workshops approved by Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Am Berhad to facilitate faster claims processing and enjoy a 6-month warranty for workmanship repairs by our panel repairers.

How do I make a windscreen repair claim?

It’s easy, you just need to send your vehicle to any of our windscreen panel workshops listed here and they will liaise with us on the claim. However, we will only be liable for the claims up to your selected windscreen sum covered.

Will my No-Claim-Discount (NCD) be affected if I make a windscreen claim?

If you have included a windscreen cover to your certificate, you can claim from your windscreen cover without affecting your NCD. Otherwise, you will lose your NCD if you claim from your comprehensive cover to replace the broken windscreen.

What if I lost my car key?

You will need to submit a copy of the police report on the incident and original receipts for the cost of replacing the key to us. Upon receipt of such documents, we will reimburse you 80% of the cost to replace the key up to the sum covered as selected by you.

How do I claim for Towing and Cleaning due to Water Damage?

In the event your vehicle sustains water damage due to flooding, flash flood, overflowing of waterways, drains, rivers or mud slides which require towing and cleaning, you will need to submit the original receipts for towing and cleaning as well as the photographs before and after cleaning works is done. Upon receipt of such documents, we will reimburse you up to the sum covered as selected by you.
